Jimmy is survived by wife, Brenda Smith; daughter Kristi Connell (Jody); daughter Cheri McDonald (Greg); and son Bryant Maness; sister Lillian Talton (Edwin); Four Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren.
Jimmy was preceded in death by parents Walter Fudge and Lillian O Maness; sister Betty Lou Maness; sister Janell McNeal; sister Patricia Hughes and brother Ricky Maness; granddaughter Liberty Michaela Sargent.
A visitation for Jimmy will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150 with Bro. Joe Kelley officiating. A burial will occur Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Serving as pallbearers are Greg McDonald, Frank McDonald, Sam McDonald, Jody Connell, Walter Maness, Brandon Stanley, Jaylen Stanley and Zachary Stanley.
Jimmy served in the Army during Vietnam, while in Vietnam he received 2 Bronze Stars. A Bronze Star is awarded for heroic or meritorious service, Jimmy received one of each. Jimmy was also a lifetime member of the American Legion. He served Weogufka Post 249, and from 2005 through 2006 Jimmy was the State of Alabama Department Commander. In his later years, he served Fultondale Post 255. Jimmy worked at Kimberly Clark as a heavy equipment operator for many years.
