My name is Jayda. I went to school with Dillan since 2nd grade, 4th, 5th, and 6th. I found out after 3 years of leaving school that he'd gone shortly after I left. We laughed a lot, he'd make me laugh when I never wanted to. I was in the worst mood and he'd do some little face or noise and suddenly it was all okay. I'd never really met someone like him. He was outgoing.  I felt heavily guilty when I found out because I was one of the people in his reserved friend group. He never (in my eyes) interacted much until we started talking. So all I could do (and still sort of do) is blame myself despite it all. He was a good kid, never deserved the crap given to him. I miss him a lot and hate I never got to see goodbye or get more details. Rest up Dillan, we love you so, and the last thing we'll do is forget you my heart <3

We will greatly miss Dillan. He always had a smile on his face and a joyful personality. He was a bright light in this world. 

The service was beautiful and remembered him in a loving way. The emphasis on his relationship with Jesus is encouraging and comforting to all of us.  I look forward to seeing him again.

I loved Dillan - we were developing such a great relationship. I wish I had more time with him. He was so helpful and funny and anything I ask him to do he was always so eager to do. Every time I cut my grass now I will think of the day he was happy to be able to come over and cut it for me. He would cut some then stop and talk, then cut some more then stop and talk some more. I am really going to miss him. He and I were beginning to be good friends. I just wish I would have told him that if he ever needed to talk about things that was bothering him I would have listened to him and been there for him.

My heart hurts at the loss of precious Dillan. He had the most charming, impishly shy smile and was so good natured! He was a former student of mine at Saks Elementary.  I always looked forward to seeing him happily bursting through the classroom door with his friends!  He was an especially sweet student.  Dillan will be greatly missed but forever remembered!

We will always miss you, Dillan. We had to make you start coming back to youth with us last year and you ended up charming us all with that sweet smile and snarky comments. You refused to use sunscreen on the camping trip last summer and we brought you home looking like a tomato. Mine and Brett’s  world will always be missing something without you in it. It was one of the biggest pleasure of our lives knowing you. We will always love you, sweet boy ❤️❤️

Me and Dillan played and wrestled in art class and sometimes we would stab each other in the arms with pencils or put tiny paper balls in each others shirts and slap each others backs so it would hurt worse to annoy each other. He was the best at making me laugh I will never forget you Dillan

I am so, so very sorry to hear of Dillan’s passing.  He was a former 4th grade student of mine at Saks Elementary School.  I will never forget encouraging him to smile everyday when he got to school.  I would always tell him to, “Have a great day!”  He would reply with, “It’s gonna be a bad day.” or “It’s a bad day.”  I never let him leave my sight without getting a smile from him.  Over time, he would eagerly greet me in the mornings with a huge smile all while saying his usual, “It’s gonna be a bad day.”  When he became an after schooler, his “bad days” with a smile continued.  Every time he saw me in the afternoons, he would greet me with the biggest smile ever and say either, “It’s a bad day.” or “Have a bad day, Mrs. McFry.”  Needless to say, I thought the world of Dillan and his big smiles and “bad days.”  We had the best of days in class with lots of laughter and learning.  He will be forever in my heart and greatly missed.

Dillan was a good friend everytime we would go in P.E we would play tetherball together and he would sometimes beat me and I would beat him sometimes and every morning he would speak to me and Dillan was a good friend and I will miss him but he’s in a better place now.

I so enjoyed having Dillan in my class this year. The smile on his face when I would greet him in the mornings just made my day. As an Auburn fan, hearing him say Roll Tide to me everyday to aggravate me was enjoyable. He was a hard working student who always challenged himself to do his best in my class on a daily basis. I'm truly going to miss this young man, but I know he is at peace. God Bless you all!

I love you. I will miss you.  I remember a time around Christmas when you were about 4. You came to visit me. You had a conversation with Mrs. Claus. You didn't want her fall off the fireplace. Even at that young age you were caring. See you when I get to heaven. Love Audrey

I miss you so much, me and you got so close since school started it just doesn’t feel complete without you there. I am going to miss all the laughs and memories we had together you had a smile that could make anyone’s day, I hope your making everyone up there laugh as hard as you made me

I had the pleasure of getting to know Dillan over the past year plus as one of his P.E. coaches. He was a very funny young man that kept us laughing. My heart is broken over this sad news and you are all in my thoughts and prayers. 

Dillan you are going to be missed dearly. You were always smiling when you came into the store. We are going to miss seeing that smile. You made a impact on alot of peoples lives. Love you Dillan.

Dillon has a sweet kind spirit about him. He was quite and shy at first but then over time he warmed up to me. He was so sweet to let me snap this picture at a Christmas party.  I loved that.

Dillan I remember the first time I meet you. You where so shy anytime I would walk by I would say hi and you would only wave final one day you said hi back and I still remember that day 

We here at the YMCA of Calhoun County really enjoyed getting to know Dillan. He attended our After School and Summer Camp programs starting in 2013. It was a great honor to watch him grow into a young man. He will be missed dearly. 

Dill pickle. You would get mad every time I called you that. You eventually became okay with it when you would would call me short I don't have the words to express the shock I'm feeling. I have some pretty incredible VBS memories with you in them. I'll cherish those. I remember all the times how you would say everytime how much taller you were then me I miss you and I can't wait to see you again! 

Dillan, my heart hurts.  I remember when I first met you…. I remember when we became friends.  I remember when I called you my best friend and you got mad but eventually I wore you down and you called me best friend!  I remember when you ate my cookies and swore an oath to never eat anything I cooked ever again.  I remember all the times you got mad cause I cut your hair too short.    I am blessed to know and love you Dillan!  See you soon best friend!  

He is a friend of my grandson.  He would ride his bike by my house.  He was always so polite.    He would ask if my grandson was here. I am so sorry for your loss.  I am praying for the parents and family. 

Dillan was a great young man. He was a beloved member of our youth group and made the group so much better. He had a smile that would light up the room when he would decide to let you see it:) I will miss his texts and calls telling me how my Ford wasn’t as good as a Chevy. We miss you, buddy and look forward to seeing you again. 

Dillan was the sweetest young man! His mischievous smirk was infectious- he had a wonderful sense of humor! I was blessed to watch him grow from a little boy into a young man. He will be missed.
