Sylacauga, AL - Graveside service for Gladys Eugene Jackson Hale, 91, will be Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Hale died Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab. Gladys was born to Seal & Ida Adair Jackson in Rock Mills Alabama on February 11, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B. Hale who she married in 1955, two sisters, Mary Nell, Alice Adair and a brother Ulysses Jackson. Gladys lived a very good life of 91 years, she attended East Highland Elementary School but was never able to finish, she was taken out in 3rd grade. God gave her a excellent mind because she was a hard worker and could accomplish any task she set her mind to do. At the age of 13 years old she did domestic work to help her family. Since Ralph was in the Army, she was able to travel to Germany, Las Vegas and many other states. After his death she moved back to Sylacauga with her daughter. Gladys was a lover of people young and old.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one adopted daughter, Molly Hale; two grandchildren, Mercedes and Gregory; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday May 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
