Sheldon John Pearson fondly known as Shelly, was born to Margaret Young and Sheldon Pearson on February 8, 1965 in Sydney, NS. Sheldon was a devoted father, a deeply loved son, and a valued brother, who passed away on March 17, 2024 at 59 in Halifax. Sheldon was a cherished soul known for his unbreakable bond with his children, passion for fishing, hockey and his compassionate heart. As a youngster, Sheldon was a talented athlete who loved playing sports. His hands were gifted for a skill in welding, while his soul found peace fishing with his dog (Angus) on the quiet waters of Cape Breton Island. Sheldon's superb sense of humour always made people laugh, cracking jokes until he finally reached his peaceful destination with God. All whom had the pleasure of knowing Sheldon loved him dearly and they will never forget his tenacity, will, charm and compassionate heart. His friends will never forget his lifelong love affair with the Philadelphia Flyers.
His three children whom he loved deeply, Aaron, Ariel and Jordan and his siblings Jacqueline (Amy), Todd (Laura), Tammy (Shane) Pearson will carry his legacy. His mother Margaret Young and outstanding stepfather Donnie Young ultimately cherished him and will miss him sorely. He is survived by several nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his father Sheldon Pearson and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will take place on Monday, March 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 10:00 am at Holy Redeemer Church, Victoria Rd, Whitney Pier.
