John is the son of the late Grand Chief Donald Marshall Sr. and Caroline (Googoo) Marshall.
John was employed with the Membertou Band as the Indigenous Employment Officer for Mi'kmaq employment/training program. He was a wonderful coworker who greeted everyone with a big smile and a good morning. He loved to share stories, have a good laugh and looked forward to see what his co-workers had on their desks as a treat for the day.
John was a very nonjudgmental man who would listen to anyone who needed a friend. He had a gift to connect with others and guide them to reach for their goals.
John was a great sportsman. He was the founder of the Tribe ball team and was an amazing coach alongside his best friend Adam (Tigger) who was loved and respected by everyone. He was a true Montreal Canadiens fan which was the cause of affectionate teasing from family and friends, who were fans of other teams. John loved his family gatherings; he was a friend of Bill.
