We the late family of Patrick Marshall Sr announce his passing while surrounded by love on Dec 23 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. He was on son of late Louis P Marshall and Susan Marshall (Denny). Patrick was a hardworking and loving Father, brother, uncle, Friend and Husband. He worked most of his life in early years. Worked with Golden Eagle Fisheries, Native Alcohol and Drugs, then Mental Health working with the youth in our community. Later in years he worked with Eskasoni Tourism. In the early 90’s Pat got to organized Native Hockey Tournament called it Tommy Marshall Memorial Tournament and also coached many teams throughout the years. He was a Great story teller. During the pandemic he started a podcast called “Taliaq?” and loved playing cards with his “Watchugot Gang”. His presence will be solely missed by family and his community that meant so much to him.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife Sonia, children; Kerrie, Kayla, Patrick Jr (Raylene) and Kiana, special son Kendrick, grandchildren; Kacey, Kaiser, Kwyn, Avery and Kingston “Kingy”. Also left to mourn are his siblings; Peter, George (Margaret), Frederick, Charlie, Pius, Henry, Mike, Mary C., Anna, Maryann and Charmaine. Also leaves behind his godchildren; Hilary, Hugh, Louie and Jaxon. Uncle Levi M. Denny and best friends; Pierre and Wilfred Gould as well as his “watchugot gang”, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Patrick is predeceased by his parents Louis P Marshall and Susan Marshall (Denny), paternal grandparents Peter and Madeline Marshall, Maternal grandparents Harriet Denny, and Duncan Gould, Brothers Louis “Joe” Marshall, Jim and Peter Francis, godparents Hazel Herney, Peter Cabot, Harry, Keegan as well as many aunts and uncles. A visitation will take place at the Elder Center in Eskasoni starting Jan 1st at 7Pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish on Jan 3rd at 10:30am, burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
