It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brian John MacAulay on April 4, 2018.

Born in Sydney Mines he was the son of the late Malcolm (Max) and Mary (MacKinnon) MacAulay and Aneas MacAulay.

Brian was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Joe), son Michael (Laura), sister Sharon (Raymond), three grandchildren, Megan, Catherine and Isabelle, one great-grandchild, Addison and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Maxine.

Sincere gratitude is extended to Dr. Stephen Hall, Harbourstone Enhanced Care Mira Bay and the Palliative Care of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

In honouring Brian’s wishes, a celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:00AM at Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 8 Clyde Avenue, Sydney Mines with Rev. Marion Barclay-MacKay officiating.

Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit or a charity of choice.
