Ryan M. Kelly, age 25, of Swansea, died February 5, 2011 unexpectedly in Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Michelle Lynn (St. Pierre) Kelly, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, whom he married on June 19, 2010.
Born the day of Hurricane Gloria in Fall River, Ryan was the son of Marie Shea and Paul Kelly of Swansea. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are his big sister, Samantha Jee Yung Kelly of Providence, RI, his favorite “auntie” Anne Shea of New Bedford, his beloved in-laws the Martel and St. Pierre families and the Shea family of New Orleans and the Shea family of Worcester.
He was a graduate of Bishop Connolly High School, class of 2004 and Fitchburg State University, class of 2009. While in college, Ryan worked as a page for the Swansea Public Library and was presently working at Borders Book Store in Swansea. Prior to that, he was a videographer for Norton TV where he also served his internship.
Very creative, Ryan played guitar and wrote his own music and lyrics. He also played in several bands with his best friend, John Cote. He co-hosted a television show on Norton Cable Access TV entitled “Music Matters” which showcased local musicians. He loved all animals- especially his dog Boone and cat Sutton.
A Celebration of Ryan’s Life will be held at the Swansea Community Center, 260 Ocean Grove Ave, Swansea on Saturday February 12, 2011 from 2-4 PM with a Service of Remembrance at 3:00 PM. Relatives and friends are encouraged to bring photographs and memories to share during his Service. The family requests that flowers be omitted and that those in attendance dress casually.
