Robin Marie Medeiros

Robin M. (Lavoie) Medeiros, age 61, of Swansea, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fall River, a daughter of Edward and Rita (Demers) Lavoie. She was the wife of the late Daniel P. Medeiros, the love of her life, whom she was reunited with on their 40th wedding anniversary.

Robin was a graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1981 and continued her education at Bristol Community College and Bridgewater State University. She graduated with an Associate’s degree, a double Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Special Education and a Master’s degree in Education.

She loved children and was always opening her heart and home to those in need. Her passion became her career; taking care of and educating children. She was able to do what she loved by being a Special Education Teacher at Case Jr. High School in Swansea for 25 years.

On vacation, she loved hiking, visiting historical sites/ruins, ghost hunting and especially chasing waterfalls with her husband. She also loved spending time with her family who she treasured and adored.

She is survived by four children, Jessica Medeiros and her husband Paul of Warren, Janelle Pacheco and her husband Steven of East Providence, Patrick Medeiros and his wife Erin of Sterling, CT, Rochelle Medeiros of Swansea; two brothers, Robert Lavoie and his wife Pam of East Providence, RI and Raymond Lavoie and his wife Elsie of Dartmouth, MA; lifelong best friend Lisa Nascimento of Swansea, MA; twelve grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Roger Lavoie.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery.
