Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Jean and Aurelia (Bonnoyer) Thibault.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served as a Combat Engineer during World War II. Prior to retiring in 1986, he worked in the Maintenance Department at Sagamore Mill as well as Paroma Drapery Mill for 30 years.
A longtime member of the Red Cross, he was also a member of St. Michael’s St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Salvation Army. An avid walker, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and doing odd jobs for family, friends and neighbors.
Robert is survived by three children, Janice Sullivan and her husband Daniel of Swansea, David Thibault and his wife Linda of Fall River, and Charles Thibault and his wife Amy of Wellington, FL; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Romeo Thibault, Irene Minville, Rita Thibault, Florence King, Blanche Thibault, Annette Paquette, and Jeanne Zimmerman.

His visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 9:00 – 10:30 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea.
