Raymond F. Brothers II, age 75 of Swansea, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Somerset Ridge Center. He was the cherished former husband and friend to Kelly L. (Rankin) Hayward and beloved husband of the late Monda (Ullman) Brothers.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Raymond F. Brothers I, and Gladys (Amaral) Brothers. Ray dedicated many years to his role as a driver for Fisher Bus Company in Somerset, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and commitment to his work. He was a proud graduate of the former Southeastern Massachusetts University, now known as UMass Dartmouth.
An avid NASCAR fan, Ray found joy in the thrill of the races and cherished spending time at home, where he loved entertaining family and friends. His warm spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was the father of the late Rachel Brothers. He is survived by his daughter (and long-term caregivers), Jocelyn R. Brothers and her partner Charles Perra of Swansea, his cousin, Herman Hunt of Warren, his extended family, Louis “Bob” Ullman and his wife Eileen, Luanne Clifford, her husband Joe, and son Max Oliver, Nancy Lapham and Deb Wojcicki.
His visitation will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea followed by burial in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to ASPCA, as Ray loved spending time with his pets, Trinket, Whiskie, and all of his favorite “feral” felines.
