Peter W. Pelletier, age 77, of Swansea, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 29, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Denise A. (Touchette) to whom he has been married for the past 35 years.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, a son of the late Horace and Edith (Couture) Pelletier, he was a lifelong resident of Swansea.
A graduate of Joseph Case High School, Class of 1965, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College. Peter served on the Finance and Advisory Board as well as the Trash Committee for the Town of Swansea. He enjoyed serving as a referee for his sons’ hockey teams. He was also a longtime member and past president of the Coles River Club. He had a great love for the water and enjoyed boating and fishing. Peter especially loved his family, his home, and his golden retriever, Chaucer.
In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by two sons, Jason Pelletier and his wife Jessica Jensen of Hillsborough, CA, Adam Perry-Pelletier and his wife Dacia of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Nicole Nurse and her husband Derrik of Dighton, MA; one sister Melanie Demoranville and her husband Bruce of Swansea; one brother, Michael Pelletier and his wife Debbie of Griswold, CT; six grandchildren, Chloe, Fallon, and Phoebe Perry-Pelletier, Lilly Jensen-Pelletier, Evelyn and Isabelle Nurse and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Paul and Michele Pelletier.
Peter’s funeral will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardeners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardeners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. His visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. The Pelletier family extends their gratitude to Hope Health Hospice Care Team A, the Swansea Ambulance Corp, and Home Instead for their compassionate care and assistance. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peter’s honor may be made to the Horace A. and Edith E. Pelletier Memorial Scholarship Foundation, C/O Joseph Case High School, 70 School St., Swansea, MA 02777 or to the Swansea Ambulance Corps, 285 Wilbur Ave., Swansea, MA 02777. Burial in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery, Swansea.
