Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Katherine (Levelle) Lyons and stepdaughter of the late John “Jack” Lyons. She was a lifelong resident of Swansea, graduating from Joseph Case High School in 1969.
Patricia dedicated many years of her professional life to helping others. She started as a phlebotomist at Charlton Memorial Hospital while her children were young. She later worked as an office manager for Dennis Rodrigues Insurance and then as a clerk for Bristol Elder Services, retiring in 2015.
Patricia was an avid New England sports fan, with a particular love for the Boston Red Sox. She cherished attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed traveling to various sports stadiums with her husband, sister-in-law Adrienne “Andie”, and late brother-in-law Peter.
From a young age, Patricia loved reading, and this passion stayed with her throughout her life. She also enjoyed knitting beautiful sweaters and blankets for her family and close friends, sharing her talent and love through her creations. You would often find her watching the Red Sox, with a book on her lap and a can of coke in her hand.
Patricia treasured spending time with her dear friends, Joan Jelinski and the late Dave Jelinski, with whom she shared many wonderful moments.
She is survived by her children: Megan Silva and her husband Jordan of Swansea and Jonathan Goss of Somerset; her five grandchildren: Savannah Goss, Austin Silva, Landon Silva, Jaxon Goss and Kade Goss; her sisters: Sharon Broadbent and her husband William of Swansea, Bobbi Garvey of Tiverton and Kathi Torres of Tiverton; her sister-in-law: Andie Goss of Swansea; along with several nieces and nephews. She was the sister-in-law of the late Peter H. Goss.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 at 10:30 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardner’s Neck Road, Swansea followed by a graveside service at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 4 – 7 PM.
