Born and raised in Fall River, the son of the late Harold and Florence (Hamilton) Wolstenholme, he had been a resident of Somerset for the past 58 years.
A graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1953 he earned an Associate’s degree in Business from Johnson & Wales University. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served as an Airman First Class during the Korean War from 1954 – 1957. A Sales Representative for John Hancock, he worked for 20 years before retiring in 1984.
Known for his hilarious sense of humor he was also the person you could turn to for help. A devoted family man; he adored his late wife, was a great father and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by three daughters, Cheryl A. Fickert and her husband Robert of Lakeville, Donna L. Ferreira of Somerset and Lynn A. McMahon of Somerset; one son, Robert M. “Bob” Wolstenholme and his partner Stacy Milroy of Plymouth; ten grandchildren Bethany Wolstenholme and her partner Tony Almeida, Jessica Joachim and her husband Shane, Brenden Fickert and his wife Meridith, Tyler Wolstenholme and his wife Valerie, Hayley Ferreira, Joshua Fickert and his wife Jade, MacKenzie Ferreira and her partner Colin Medeiros, Daniel McMahon, Ian Fickert and his partner Aubrey Cheney and Benjamin McMahon; six great-grandchildren, Charlotte Almeida, Kinsley and Hadley Joachim, Hendrix Wolstenholme, Davina Raposo and Jaxon Medeiros; sons-in-law, John Ferreira and James McMahon; daughter-in-law, Michelle Wolstenholme and his beloved Border Collie, Charlie. He was the brother of the late Mildred Hindle.
His Funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Church of Our Savior, 2112 County Street, Somerset, MA followed by burial with Military Honors in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea.
