Cheryl A. Medeiros

Cheryl A. (Nazareth) Medeiros, 70, of Swansea died Thursday March 26, 2015 in Country Gardens Skilled Nursing Care Center. She was the wife of Ronald M. Medeiros to whom she had been married for 51 years.

Born in Fall River, daughter of the late John and Evelyn (Amore) Nazareth, she was a graduate of the former Dominican Academy, Bristol Community College and UMass Dartmouth, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She grew up in Fall River and raised her family in Swansea.

Cheryl was a recovery room nurse for 43 years at the Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I., and after her retirement she continued her nursing career at Country Gardens in Swansea. She enjoyed Knitting, sewing, baking, travel and the beach. She was a long standing charter member of the former Fall River carousel Lions Club.

Surviving in addition to her husband: one daughter Stephanie Sullivan of Seekonk, one son: Glenn David Medeiros and his wife Cheryl (Levesque) Medeiros of Swansea, one brother Leonard Nazareth and his wife Rita of Little Compton, three grandchildren Timothy and Patrick Sullivan, and Jacob Medeiros. Mother of the late Mark A. Medeiros, grandmother of the late Matthew Sullivan and sister of the late Jacqueline Cloutier and Donna Torchia. Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Her funeral will take place on Tuesday March 31, 2015 at 8:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCHREST 189 Gardner’s Neck Road Swansea, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00AM in St. Dominic’s Church 1277 GAR Highway, Swansea.
