It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Barton (nee Folka) on June 1, 2021. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, daughter, auntie and friend who will be missed terribly. She passed away peacefully at home with family at her side.
Lorraine was born in Sapperton, New Westminster, the seventh of eight children of Peter and Sarah Folka. Lorraine and Keith married in 1959 and settled in the Hazelmere Valley where they raised their family (The Bartons Acres pop. 4+). Lorraine was an avid bowler throughout her life and in later years pursued love of travel, establishing cherished friendships through these adventures.
Lorraine is survived by her husband Keith; daughters Shelley (Kenton), Leslie (Kristopher) and Nancy (Martin); and grandchildren (Brenna, Rory, Rhys, Kyle, Emma, Graham and Rielle). The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the palliative home care team for their compassion and support.
A memorial will be held at a later date when conditions permit.
