Ronald D. Martin

Ron D. Martin passed into eternity on November 12, 2024. Ron was born in Portis, Kansas on June 15, 1947. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Caryn. Children, son Kelly Martin (Molly Martin), daughter Michelle Vaala (Jon Vaala) and son Jason Martin (Stephanie Martin). Ron was grandfather to Sydney Damec (Joel Damec), Izzy Martin, Alex Martin, McKenzie Kerbs (Austin Kerbs), Josie Martin, Travis Vaala (Abigail Vaala), Eleni Martin, Abby Martin & Anna Martin and great grandfather to Brantley Kerbs, Ryan Damec, Kolby Kerbs & Olivia Damec. Ron was devoted to God and to his family.

He was a Vietnam veteran; serving in the US Army from 1966 to 1968 in the 23rd Infantry Americal Division, 198th Light Infantry Brigade and served as a Deputy, Investigator and retired as a Captain at the Arapahoe County Sherriff’s Office in Littleton, Colorado. He has resided in Arizona since 2009 and was currently living in the neighborhood of Arizona Traditions.

Ron was a member of Cross Church, Surprise, and he and his wife hosted their community bible group in their home each week. Many people were aware of his strong faith because of the way he lived his life. His faith was the basis of how he treated others with gentleness and compassion. His humor brought much enjoyment to all those around him.
