Mary Lou Kelly-Costa

Mary was born on June 30, 1955 to Robert and Catherine Kelly in Chicago.

After high school, she become a mother and focused on her 4 children, Chris, Danielle, Jason, and Theresa.

Mary went back to school and graduated from Brookdale Community College with an associates degree, then she started her career is social work.

At 32, Mary met the love of her life John Costa in Long Branch, NJ. After several years of dating, the couple married and combined their families to make a stepfamily of 8.

In the last several years, Mary was able to explore her hobbies of knitting, traveling, photography, and having high teas. She took part in supper clubs and book and movie clubs.

Mary was predeceased by her mother Catherine, step-father Louis, her sister Patricia Thrall, Brother-in-law George Thrall, niece Angela Thrall, and her beloved husband of 30 years John Costa.

She is survived by sons Chris Kelly, Jason Kelly and John Costa; her daughters Danielle Thrall, Theresa Kelly, and Jaclyn Allen; son-in-laws John Thrall and Craig Allen; daughter-in-law Karen Costa; brothers Michael Kelly, Nicholas Kelly; sister-in-laws Nancy Kelly, Christine Delaney, and Barbara Costa; and brothers-in-law Francis Delaney and Richard Costa; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and she is survived by several Aunts and Uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 W. Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ 85374.
