William Thomas Parsons

Bill Parsons passed peacefully on August 1, 2013. Bill was born on Nov. 5, 1923 in Minford, Ohio to Ida Florence Flan-nery and Charles Elbert Parsons. He grew up on the family farm until he joined the Armed Forces. After his honorable discharge from the Army Bill moved to Phoenix where he was employed at Alcoa as a crane operator.

On Dec. 2, 1949 he met and married the love of his life, Wilma Barker. They had two daughters.

Bill is survived by one sister, June Nolan and a brother Robert Edward Parsons; two daughters Karen McQuarrie (Ron) and Cheryl Gregg. His grandchildren are Cathy Kitt (Todd); Marcy Smith (Jim); Ernie Gregg; Kevin (Staci) McQuarrie; Alan McQuarrie; Carrie McQuarrie; George (BG) Laughton (Jen) and Casey Minker (David). Great grandchil-dren are Gabbie, Connor, and Camille Kitt, McKenna and Matthew McQuarrie; Blake Laughton; David, Elizabeth and Isabel Minker. Special nephews Bill Norman and Jim Daugherty along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank Marilyn Gudith, Wanda Hankins and the staff at Sierra Winds for the specialized care of our father.

Sunland Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements. There will be a viewing on Friday, Aug. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. as well as Saturday, Aug. 10 from 1 to 2 p.m. Services will fol-low at 2 p.m.
