She will be remembered for her warm kindness and generosity as well as for her playful sense of humor and quick wit. She loved to laugh and would often be the one to get the laughter and fun rolling. She left an impression anywhere and everywhere she went and was renowned and remembered by all who so easily “took a liking” to her.
Virginia Geraldine Oldham Johnson was born in rural Stuart, Oklahoma to her loving parents Lawrence and Myrtle (Hutchins) Oldham. She was the oldest of her siblings, Charles (Cheryl) Oldham, Josie (Don) Jackson, Rose (Lee) Morris and Linda Logan.
At the age of 13 she and her family moved to Miami, Arizona. This is where she later met her sweetheart, Kenneth Leroy Johnson. They were married for 50 years full of love, care and devotion. They welcomed the pride and joy of their lives, their two children, Kenneth Dwaine Johnson and Judy Ellen Johnson Thomas. They raised their family in Whittier, California and once they retired, moved to Sun City, Arizona. As Kenneth’s health declined, she cared for him in their home. It was impressive and inspiring to witness the attentive, loving care that she provided for him.
Virginia was preceded in death by her Husband, Kenneth Leroy Johnson, Son Kenneth Dwaine Johnson, Brother Charles Oldham and sister Josie Jackson.
She is survived by her daughter Judy (James) Thomas, her sisters, Rose (Lee) Morris and Linda Logan, her Grandchildren, Jennifer, James, Jason, Janine, Jeffrey, Julianne, Jared, Wendy, Tiffany and Chrystal as well as her many great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Her family takes great comfort in the knowledge that she has at long last been reunited with her dear husband, son, parents and other loved ones who have passed before.
Her funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at LDS Church Sun City Ward. With Viewing be at the LDS Ward from 9Am until 10AM.
Her committal service where she will be rejoin her pre-deceased spouse Kenneth will occur Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 N Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351.
