

Celebrating the Life of Vernon Lewis Jr. With hearts both saddened and filled with the hope of eternal life, we announce the passing of Vernon Lewis Jr., who entered into the Lord’s embrace on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Vernon was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Lewis, Sr., his mother, Rose Ruth Fasciano, and his step-father, Wilfred Hedeen. He is survived by his son Rich Lewis, and his wife Janice Lewis.
Vernon was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He proudly served in the Coast Guard from 1957 to 1962. His family moved to California where he became an Aviation Mechanic for American Airlines. His Aunt Verna introduced him to his then future wife, Janice Severson. The two fell in love and married February 25, 1968. He dedicated his career to aviation, retiring from American Airlines in 1996 aer many years as an Aviation Mechanic. Upon retirement, Vernon and his wife Janice, moved to Sun City, Arizona, where he continued to serve his community by volunteering with the Sun City Posse. Vernon, along with his beloved wife, Janice, were long-time members of West Olive Church of Christ, where he served as a Deacon until his health no longer allowed. His faith was a cornerstone of his life.
He is survived by his loving son, Rich Lewis, his niece, Sheila Harmell, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
