Terry was born on February 14, 1935, to Nunzio and Antonetta (Avola) DiFalco in Syracuse, NY. Shortly after finishing high school, Terry married Robert (Bob) Koegel. They welcomed three children and eventually settled in Phoenix, AZ.
While her children were young, Terry enjoyed working in the elementary and high school cafeterias for the Glendale School districts. She had a tremendous impact on the lives of countless children and, after a 30+ year career, retired as the Thunderbird High School Cafeteria Manager. Terry's love of people and service continued well into her retirement. For 13 years, she volunteered at Banner Boswell Medical Center, providing comfort and ease for patients preparing for upcoming procedures.
In addition to her volunteer work, Terry enjoyed an active social life and never met a stranger. Some of her favorite pastimes were yearly cruises, lunches at favorite restaurants, shopping for bargains, and spending time in casinos with friends and family. Terry also loved the challenges of a good Scrabble game and the daily crossword, and never hesitated to shower friends and loved ones with delicious baked goods. Prior to Bob’s passing in 2001, they enjoyed hiking the Grand Canyon each year.
Terry will truly be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children Michael Koegel, Valerie Peters, and David Koegel; her grandchildren Christina Schell, Jessie Pearson, Collin Peters, and Nicole Deatherage; her great grandchildren Kolten Schell, Kelsee Schell, and Gage Pearson; her brother Joseph DiFalco and her sister Nancy Pace.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:00am at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351. To send condolences to the Koegel family please visit www.SunlandMemorial.com.
