Robert H. Strausser

Robert H. Strausser, age 87, of Surprise, AZ died on January 3, 2014 at Chaparral Winds Assisted Living. Mr. Strausser was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 21, 1926 and grew up in Pontiac, Michigan. He attended Purdue and Eastern Michigan Universities, received a Bachelor of Science Degree, and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He worked in all facets of plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning field- from manufacturer, wholesaler, contractor and his own factory representative business in Rockford, Illinois and San Diego, California prior to retiring in 1988 to Sun City West. At the time of retirement, he was working as a Project Manager for a large mechanical contractor in San Diego. He served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Navy during WWII. While residing in Sun City West he was member of various associations and committees, the Sun City West Prides and a Deputy with the Sun City West Posse. He was also a member of Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church. He is survived by his son, William, two grandsons, three great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. His memorial service will be held January 17, 2014 at 2:00pm in the chapel at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church in Sun City West. Burial will be held in Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City in the Garden of Valor. In Lieu of flowers a donation to the church will be appreciated.
