He was born in Columbus Ohio.
After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he served in the US Army during WWII, after his discharge from the military he began his career with General Motors in Columbus and retired after 42 years as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Warren Michigan.
He meet the love of his life Dorothy Stauch and the two where married in 1948. After his retirement the two of them moved to Sun City Arizona.
He was a member of the Sun City Model Railroad Club, The Parkinson's Tremble Clefs Choir, and Peace Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Stauch) Arnold and six children, Douglas (Renea), Daniel (Susan), David (Carol Ann), Dawn (Kathleen), Dian (Terry) Gasparski, and Dirk. He is preceded in death by his daughter Darcie.
The family is grateful for the caregivers in the home and especially Hospice of the West, and Agave Assisted Living.
Memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church on August 20th, 2016 at 18265 N 89th Ave Peoria Arizona 85382.
