Pat Porter was born Patricia Lou Tarr on May 16, 1925 in her family home in Findlay, Ohio to Pearl Bennett Tarr and Arthur Rodgers Tarr. She joined another two daughters, Bonnie and Opal. She graduated from Findlay High School in 1943 and went to work at the sugar beet factory as a secretary. In 1945, she married Richard Porter. Nine years later they welcomed a daughter, Pattie. She moved from Ohio to Arizona in 1981, and lived there for the rest of her life, retiring from the phone company in 1992. She was active in the Tiffin Ohio Chapter of the Eastern Star, was a deacon at the Presbyterian churches she attended, played golf and bridge regularly, and enjoyed the friendship of many, many people. After a brief illness, Pat went home to her Heavenly Father on October 20, 2022. She is survived by her daughter Pattie, her son-in-law Jimmy, her granddaughter Shawn, Shawn’s husband Tom, and four great grandchildren.
