Lynn Legg was my sister-in-law. We have shared many wonderful good times through out our lives. 883 Pleasant Ridge was the epicenter for the Legg Family. She showed hospitality in every way.  A talented

My Aunt Lynn was an absolute treasure.  Her family, faith, and friends meant the world to her.   She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and aunt.   When my father was a teenager, she married his older brother, Jim.   Lynnette and Jim extended warmth and support to my father and mother in their early years of starting a family, and throughout their lives.  She was always so welcoming. Whenever our family visited Columbus, we loved visiting our cousins and her Pleasant Ridge home in Bexley.   The hat pins, the ice cream, the basement with her painted floor, and that backyard...it was like a hidden garden - full of artistic touches and secrets that were all from Lynnette's heart and hands.  

I moved back to Columbus ten years ago and although I was not able to attend her weekly bible study, I did get the opportunity to attend a pot luck at her church in German Village. Everyone knew and loved her.  It was there that Lynnette introduced me to Grape Salad - she shared her recipe and I still make it today.  

 Aunt Lynn loved the history of the Legg family and one day, we explored all  the "spots" in Columbus.  What an adventure!  How did she ever find some of them?  And of course we ate lunch at one of her favorites - Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers.  I learned many things from her that day and I am grateful for the time we spent together.

I loved Lynnette's zest for life.  It still amazes me that she sold her lifetime home and moved to Arizona in her 90's.  I had the honor of visiting her there last year.  She had moved her favorite things, and had managed to transform a desert home into Bexley all over again.   The force of God was always in her - rest in peace Lynnette, you will never be forgotten!

How I love the memories I am blessed to have of Mrs. Lynn and her precious daughter, Gwynn. Fun trips to Ohio and special occasions here in Baton Rouge and surrounding area. Praying for much peace and comfort for all of the family in the great losses over the past few weeks!

I was sorry to hear of Lynn's passing, so soon after Gwynn.  She was so creative with a notable number of hobbies and interests. I will always remember her hatpin collection. Klondike bars were always in the fridge. Her Fourth of July parties were legendary. And her yard, festooned with wisteria, was filled with all sorts of unusual conversation pieces. I enjoyed hearing her stories about where she got this or an unusual fun fact about that. There was always a good story behind everything she collected. She used to bring out cushions for the outdoor furniture that she would put away at the end of the day so that it felt like her garden was an extension of her living room. Who does that? But it was quite pleasant to sit in the garden with her. I last visited her about ten years ago, and even though she was stooped over from age, she was in the middle of painting a mural on her basement floor. It was amazing. and I remember thinking that I would like to be that invested in life when I reached her age. I remember her passion in researching our family genealogy. She knew every descendant and third cousin twice removed. She took it all the way back to when our ancestors lived in Europe, all the way to Oliver Cromwell's uncle. It still confuses me, but I admire her for having the stamina to work that all out. When she decided to dive into a project, she went all the way. There was no middle ground with Lynn. I appreciate that her door was always open for me when I was living in Columbus so far away from my own family. It was comforting to know she was there.

So happy I got a chance to spend time with my Aunt Lynne last year in Surprise, AZ.  She was so full of life; I’ll never forget all the years of 4th of July parties and her fabulous garden.  She will be greatly missed.
