John Neal Vaux

John died suddenly the morning of September 19, 2023 in Peoria, AZ at the age of 46.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Vaux of Peoria, AZ; his wife of 22 years, Jeanette Vaux; his children Sophia, Lillian and Ethan Vaux; his brothers Ernie Mincy of AZ, Glenn Mincy of AZ, Gary Mincy of MO, Brian Vaux of IN, Jeff Vaux of IN, Craig Vaux of IN, and Bret Vaux of CO; and many nieces, nephews. He is preceded in death by his father; John Norton Vaux of Sun City, AZ and his sister Renee Vaux of IN.

John was born on February 7, 1977 in Hammond, IN to proud parents John & Mary Vaux. He attended Greenway High School in Phoenix, AZ graduating in 1995. College led him to Thousand Oaks, CA where he met his future wife and graduated from California Lutheran University in 2000 with a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Political Science. Shortly after graduating college, he moved to Virginia and started a job at SAIC. He started in IT, eventually moving up as the Site Support District Manager at SAIC.

He married Jeanette Vaux in 2001 and they enjoyed their life together in Virginia. After several years they decided to move closer to family and made their home in Arizona. While in Peoria, John worked for Phoenix Children’s Hospital as an IT Infrastructure Architect, Safeway as a Senior Information Security Architect, and at PetSmart as their Information Security Architect. John knew so much about so many different things. A conversation with John was always filled with many interesting facts.

One of his greatest blessings were his 3 children. Now 12, 14 and 16 they will always miss his hugs. They will miss his witty sense of humor and his seemingly never ending knowledge of random topics.

John had a love of computers including gaming with his friends and family. Playing board games and computer games with John are fond memories for his family. He also enjoyed racing RC cars with his son and, during COVID, he enjoyed the RV trips he took with his family in Arizona and Colorado. He loved his family very much and will be missed by so many.

The funeral is scheduled for Monday October 9, 2023 at 10 am at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 8902 W. Deer Valley Rd, Peoria, AZ 85383. There will be a luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall at the church. Pastor Mark Brown will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate John’s life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in support of John’s children. The money will be used for his children’s future college plans and to meet their current financial needs.
