Helena Juszynski (nee Ptak), 86 years old, of Sun City West, Arizona passed away peacefully in bed at 4 AM on Tuesday, November 30, under the care of her loving family. Helena was born in the village of Glinna,Tarnopol District, Poland . Daughter of Jozef and Agnieszka Ptak (nee Zuba), sister of Adam. Helena attended nursing school in Jelenia Gora and upon graduation practiced in the villages of Nowa Ruda, Klodzko, and Scinawka Srednia, Poland.
She met her future brother-in-law, Kazimierz Juszynski, while working in the local electrical power plant. Through Kazimierz she met her husband Edward Juszynski and was married in 1959 in the village of Scinawka Srednia. In 1960 Helena and Edward moved to Chicago, Illinois and she began her 35-year nursing career at St Elizabeth's hospital where she formed many long lasting friendships and was well known for her kind and merciful care for her patients.
In that same year the family was blessed with the birth of their eldest son, George Edward, followed by the birth of Adam a few years later. Helena was active in the Polish community of Chicago and helped many Polish relatives and friends begin their new lives in the United States. A devoted mother, she worked hard to ensure that both of her sons successfully completed their education and were well rounded young men.
In 1985 Helena, Edward and mother-in-law Zofia retired to Sun City West, Arizona to be close to Edward's sister Jane (Janina) Rabe and her family. In Arizona she continued to practice nursing, volunteered for the Polish American Congress and enjoyed meeting with her family and many friends within her Rosary Circle. Throughout her retirement and illness she was visited frequently by the Rabe, Cafferata, Adamus, and Ptak families.
Her greatest joy occured when Adam and wife Melissa gave birth to her beloved granddaughters Madeleine (now an attorney in Atlanta) and Kate (university senior in Boston); and again when George and wife Monika blessed her with grandson Maxmillian (in high school in Bellingham, WA).
Her beloved husband Edward Juszynski has been awaiting Helena to again join him since 2015 and now that day has come.

And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?" (Christina Rosetti)

In the event you prefer to make a donation, please consider a donation in Mom's name to Hospice of the Valley. The people in this not-for-profit are truly angels on Earth and were highly supportive of Mom during the final stages of her time in this world. They were also very supportive of my Dad during his final days. As I said, Angels on Earth, each and every one.
