Sauer, Gerald currently living in East Lansing Formally from Roosevelt Park. Gerald Sauer age 85, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 7, 1939 to the late Clarence and Norma Sauer and passed away on November 17, 2024 in Phoenix, Az.
Gerald is preceded to heaven by his wife RoseAnn. He is survived by three sons, James (Julie) Sauer of Southport NC, John (Angie) Sauer of East Lansing, Tom (Jen) Sauer of Muskego, Wi; 4 grandchildren, Aaron (Allison), Matthew (Krista), Sharon Cox (Matt) and Maxwell;3 Great-grandchildren (plus 2 on the way),Benjamin,Carmen, and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his Sister Eileen.
Jerry and RoseAnn owned and operated the last two 7-11 Stores in the Muskegon area, He started his career at Badger Mutual Insurance where he met RoseAnn Windau. He moved on to a role at JCPenneys which brought him to Muskegon in 1971 to manage the Health and Beauty Department of a newly built store. In 1979, he bought a 7-11 store followed a few years later by a second store. He also managed the Coast Guard PX Exchange in Grand Haven and Muskegon. Jerry will be remembered as a kind and helpful person by his many customers and employees. Jerry was a long time member of Ebenezer Lutheran in Milwaukee and Our Redeemer Lutheran in Muskegon and most recently St Luke Lutheran in Haslett. He was one of the founders of Little Eb Daycare in Milwaukee. While in Muskegon he served on the Lutheran Michigan District Evangelism board and the Sunday school board.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. His internment at Norton Cemetery puts him to rest next to his wife of 56 years. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
