Dr. Donna Marie Reimer Becker (Age 77), professor and author was born to Eternal life on March 20, 2021. Preceded in death by her beloved son James John ("J.J.”) and her parents John Arthur (Betty) Reimer and Alma Josephine Reimer (f/k/a Aicher). Loving and devoted Mom of Gigi (Rick) Marteney and Gina Becker-Zarling (fiancé Ray) of Phoenix, Arizona, Devoted sister of Dawn and brother-in-law Tom Aschenbrenner of Madison, Wisconsin and brother-in-law Ronald (Sandy dec.) Greaser. Patient and kind Grandma to Brooke (Todd) Bates, Rick Marteney (fiancé Amanda), Ty Zarling, Ally Marteney and loving Grammie to Maxx Zarling. Recent great-grandmother to Berkley Bates. Dear Aunt of Eric (Kelly) Aschenbrenner, Evan (Dana) Aschenbrenner, and Andrew (Megan) Aschenbrenner, Jim Greaser, Ed (Yun) Becker, Toni Becker, Donna Collett. Loving great aunt to Ethan, Alex, Blake, Jonathan, Jenna, Jacob and Taylor. Further survived by other relatives and close friends in Wisconsin and the Pebble Creek community, other friends, neighbors, and former colleagues.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Donna graduated from Mount Mary College, went on to earn her Master’s Degree from UW-Milwaukee, and then her Doctorate from Cardinal Stritch College. Dr. Reimer-Becker worked as a professor of Court Reporting and then the last twenty years of her career as an English Professor. In 2008, after more than 40 years of teaching, Dr. Reimer-Becker retired from Concordia University-Wisconsin. She had many friends and colleagues that she maintained close friendships, more than a decade after retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her daughters, grandchildren, sister Dawn, and other friends; Tuesday Grandma nights with Gina, Ty and Maxx; Wednesday shopping and lunch with Gigi; authors guild; writing about books about Queen Elizabeth and publishing numerous Children’s books; various clubs; tutoring Maxx and helping Ty with his papers and discussing history and politics with both of the boys and Ray; reading books with Ally; cards with the ladies and guys of Pebble Creek; wine on the patio with the girls; lunch at the Eagle’s Nest; swimming at the pool; travelling to Wisconsin to spend time with her sister and brother in law, nephews and great nephews, all of her longtime friends Karen, Donna, Cap, JB, Beth, Nancy, Kathy, Ellen, Dave and Bob and so many more.
Visitation will be held at the Sunland Mortuary, Friday, March 26, 2021 from 4-8 PM.
Funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 830 E Plaza Circle, Litchfield Park, Arizona 85340 on Saturday, March 27 at 10:00 a.m.
Burial at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 N Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351 to follow the funeral service.
