Carol was born on June 21, 1952 in Glencoe, MN, to Francis Rozeski and Marcella Rozeski (Matousek). Her father Francis was killed in the Korean Conflict on October 24 of 1952. Her early years were spent with her mother, grandmother and uncles on her grandmother’s farm in Glencoe, MN, and she had many fond memories of their time together on the farm. At the age of 7 her mother married Harold Matousek and her long awaited wish to have a brother and sister was able to come true. After high school, she attended and graduated from St. Cloud State University receiving a BS degree in Elementary Education. In 1974, she married Roger Gale and began living in Princeton, MN and had two children, Peter Gale and Julie Gale (Borunda). In 1981, her marriage to Roger was dissolved. In 1989, she moved to St. Cloud, MN and married Ken Voit. Ken and Carol spent their retirement years in Arizona.
She spent her working career as an Elementary teacher in Princeton, MN. Carol was also passionate about enriching women’s lives with her Mary Kay business. A highlight of her retirement years was her time spent volunteering as President of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul, serving the community of central Arizona serving those in need of food, clothing and housing.
Carol is survived by her mother Marcella Matousek, husband Ken Voit, children Peter Gale (Amie Gale) and Julie Borunda (Ricardo Borunda), step children Robert Voit (Laura Voit), Curt Voit, Kim Voit and Debbie Voit, and 12 grandchildren, as well as 3 great grandchildren.
She dedicated her entire life giving to others and enriching the lives of all those who knew her. Carol will be remembered as a mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday April 16th, 2021 at 10 am (AZ time) at Prince of Peace Church, Sun City West, AZ (14818 W. Her visitation, funeral, and burial will be in Silver Lake, Minnesota, tentatively on Thursday, June 24th, 2021, with additional details coming soon.
