Carol Jean Powers

Sun City, AZ -Carol J. Powers 81 of Sun City, AZ, Formerly of Crossville TN, Crown Point IN, and Dolton IL, passed away peacefully at home Aug 24. Beloved wife of Benjamin Powers, Loving Mother of Linda Beese, Donna (Dennis) Forrest, Cathy Patula, late Janice Ray, JoAnne Price, James Beese, Fred Beese (Mari Colabelli). Grandmother of 11 grandchildren, great grandmother of 17 great grandchildren, Dear sister of late Roberta Baiel, Lawrence Saxon. Carol was born in Chicago to late Gladys and Elroy Saxon.

Carol enjoyed traveling with her husband in her younger yrs. She also enjoyed gardening and working on her property in TN. She also loved her birds, especially her hummingbirds; she collected bird figurines and had a large collection. She also enjoyed playing cards and games with all her facebook friends.

Carol worked many years for Indiana Harbor Belt railroad and retired from there where she made many friends through the years.

Carol was devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Friend; she will be missed dearly by all that knew her. Family will be planning a celebration of life in Northwest Indiana as covid subsides.
