Lillie Louise Vandeway passed away on October 3, 2017 surrounded by her family in Bonney Lake, Lillie Louise Vandeway passed away on October 3, 2017 surrounded by her family in Bonney Lake, Washington. Known by all as “Kittie”, she was born on April 13, 1934 in Norwich, Kansas to Paul and Mary (Mayer) Bailey. She had one brother, Don Bailey. She was the daughter of a Pastor and had a deep relationship and love for Jesus. She attended church her whole life and loved being part of a church family. She always put God first in her life and loved Jesus with all her heart. She married dad, Wayne Vandeway right after graduating from High School. They moved from Kansas to Washington State three years later with two small children. They lived in Des Moines and Kent, Washington working and raising their children, then moved to Quincy in Eastern Washington and then back to Kent until they retired from The Boeing Company and then moved to Yuma, Arizona and lived there for over 20 years. She loved living in Arizona, she loved the heat and the beauty of the desert but most of all she loved her many friends she had there. She was a working wife and mother who loved to sing praises to the Lord in church, go camping, water and snow skiing with her family, going on motorcycle rides with her husband, toll painting and making beadwork jewelry. She loved the beauty in nature and the Arizona desert flowers. She was a good wife and a loving mother and grandmother and a great friend to many. She loved people, and was kind to everyone and was a good example on how to live life. She loved dad so much and after his passing in March 2011, she stayed in Arizona for a few more years but last year she came home to live with her family in Bonney Lake, Washington. She was a great woman and will be missed by many. She is survived by her son, Richard Vandeway and daughter, Paula Vandeway, both of Bonney Lake; Five grandchildren, Sheri, Kari, Leah, Kim, and Matthew and seven great grandchildren, Dakota, Cheyenne, Gregory, Carter, Lauren, Addison and Kalanestra. Mom liked everybody she met. She blessed our lives and will be missed so much.
