Our much loved wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend left us on February 24, 2012 after fighting the effects of emphysema. Born in Tacoma on Christmas Day 1942, after a difficult early life with her two brothers, at 12 she found her second family with her foster family, the Otis’, who became as true as blood family. Darlene graduated from Acquinas Academy in Tacoma in 1961 and then attended Tacoma Vocational School for cosmetology. While attending school she met and then married William (Bill) Wynn, they were married on May 6, 1963. Daughters Stacy and Sara soon completed their family and Darlene stayed home to care for the family.
Darlene enjoyed many activities, but above all family was first. She most enjoyed camping and fishing. She also was a great cook, loved children, treasure hunting at garage sales and working at The Fair. Holiday decorations and her gardens were lavish and she enjoyed their Vintage Chevy Club. Family and friends will dearly miss Darlene’s generous nature. “Goin' up to the spirit in the sky.”
Darlene is survived by Bill Wynn, her husband of nearly 49 years, daughters Stacy (Tony) Klontz and Sara (Darrel) Hubbard, grandson Connor Klontz, father Eugene Otis, brother Rudy (Charlie) Susan, sister Marylu Taylor, brother Christopher (Linda) Otis, brother Bryan (Par) Otis, and so many more extended family and loved friends. Preceded in death by mother Jacqueline Otis, brother David Susan, natural mother Helen Susan and natural father Rudolph Susan.Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday March 10, 2012 with a service at 11:00 am at Powers Funeral Home in Sumner followed by a reception at the Historic Dieringer Gym, 2008 East Valley Hwy, Sumner.
