T.J. was a longtime resident of Sulphur. He worked as a Pipefitter and a Engineer Coordinator at City Service/Citgo until his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur, a Mason and a Shriner for many years. His favorite pastime was building furniture and many other projects. T.J. was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Joan Johnson; a son, Mark Johnson; grandchildren, Trisha Ravia, Emily Johnson, Katelyn Johnson and Chelsea Brooks; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Annalisa and Aidan Ravia, Cecilla and Gryson Brooks; sister, Remona Brasher; and a host of nieces and nephews.
T.J. was preceded in death by his daughter, Debora Johnson; parents, Zenus and Amal Johnson; brother, L.D. Johnson; and sister, Dorothy Ash.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Randall Chesson will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
