He was a native of Sweetwater, Texas and a longtime resident of Lubbock, Texas. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and enjoyed collecting military memorabilia. Manuel was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife, Benigna Fraire; three daughters, A. Patricia Martinez and husband, Matt, Susana Beltran and husband, Paul, all of Lubbock, Texas, and Arcelia "Shelly" Ross and husband, Damiaon, of Sulphur; one sister, Josefina Todd of Lubbock, Texas; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock, Texas. The Rev. Martin Pina will officiate. Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home, and from 4-8 p.m. Monday in Guajardo Funeral Chapels in Lubbock, Texas.
