Dan Joseph McCauley, age 71, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Dan was born on June 28, 1950 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Dan proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. Dan retired as an Operator from PPG where he worked for 30+ years. In his younger years, Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing. After retirement he spent his days at home spending time with his family.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Brawley "B.J." and Icy Fontenot McCauley and a brother, Brent McCauley.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Marion McCauley; son, Michael Ogletree and wife, Mejie; daughter, Kimberly Lamitina and husband, Steve; son, Christopher Ogletree; grandchildren, Tony Lamitina, Nicole Lamatina, Josh Ogletree, Cory Ogletree, and Alexis Ogletree; great-grandchildren, Brody and Silas; and a host of cousins.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home with a Rosary being held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Carlyss with Rev. Luke Krzanowski officiating. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
