Bernadine Lyons Consunado, 75, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. She was the only child born to loving parents, Waville LeDoux Lyons and Ronald Lyons on November 29, 1948 in Sulphur, Louisiana.
Even though she had no siblings, she had many cousins she was close to on both sides of her family. Bernadine graduated from Sulphur High School in 1966. Shortly after graduation, she had her first job at One Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaners in Sulphur. She married Michael Consunado in September of that year. Soon after, she went to work at Western Auto in Westlake. In the next few years, Bernadine worked at Smart and Thrifty Dress Shop in Sulphur, R.L. Polk, Sunseaker Magazine in Vinton, Larry Wise Publishing and Southwest Daily News where she retired in May 2016. Bernadine became an Avon representative in 1999.
She leaves behind her loving husband of nearly 58 years, Michael Consunado; daughters, Christie Meadows (Shawn) and Casey Campbell (Melvel); grandchildren, Cody Meadows (Victoria), Madison Meadows, and Brennon O'Quain; along with great granddaughters, Dakota Meadows and Layla Meadows. She also leaves behind many friends and family whom she loved and appreciated very much.
Bernadine loved her children, grands and greats with all of her heart and would have done anything for them. She also wants her family and friends to remember her children and grands in the future.
A Celebration of Bernadine's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10:00 am, with Dr. Rev. Bobbie Yellott officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, from 8:30 am until the time of the service.
