Richard Anthony Darby, age 72, went to be with the Lord on the 18th of July 2024. Born in Houston, Texas to Pervis Anthony Darby and Margaret Louise Brown Darby, on the 24th of January 1952.
After graduating from Houston Technical Institute in 1972, he enlisted into the US Navy and was assigned to submarine duty. He retired after 21 years of service with the rank Petty Officer First Class.
Richard loved playing games, going camping and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving daughter Mary and husband Matthew G. Mills, grandson Mark, brother Thomas Darby and wife Kim, sister Monica McMurtry and husband Clark, sister Teri Ashley and husband CT, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debora Darby, brother Clifford Darby, his father and mother.
He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.
A celebration of life for Richard will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 3:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company@Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas 77478, followed by a catered reception at 4:00 PM.
