Hank was born in Conshohocken, PA. He attended grade school at Conshohocken Catholic School and at the age of 12, left home to attend Saint John Kanty Prep School in Erie, PA. Hank loved his country and proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. Hank worked as an accountant for the Gulf Oil Corporation for most of his career. In 1976, he put his trust in the Lord and moved his family to Houston TX. It was a difficult decision at the time, as he was the only family member to move away from the Conshohocken, PA area, but a decision that he would later say was the best he could have made for his family.
Hank was a man of faith, loyalty and service.
He was proud of his Polish heritage and Catholic faith and taught his children and grandchildren the many Polish traditions they hold dear to their hearts and continue to carry on today.
Hank was dedicated to his family and his faith in the Lord. He was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Conshohocken and Notre Dame Catholic Church in Houston, where he had been on the Finance Committee and served as an usher.
Hank was blessed with the love of his life and was married to his wife, Frances, for 58 years. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren. He was never happier than when he spent time with his grandchildren. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand or offer advice.
Hank lived life to the fullest. He was a life-long member of the TK Polish Club in Conshohocken. He had many hobbies including tinkering with cars, camping trips with his family, playing golf, get-togethers with the “Bear Creek Gang”, following the Philadelphia Eagles, Polka music and attending every possible event involving his grandchildren.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Mary Kuczynski, and his brother, Chester Kuczynski. Hank is survived by his wife, Frances, his sister, Hedwig (Conshohocken, PA), his son Henry Kuczynski, Jr. and his wife Marie (Sugar Land, TX), his daughter Maryann Wooldridge and her husband William (Sugar Land, TX), his son Thomas Kuczynski and his wife Judy (Houston, TX), his grandchildren Taylor, Lauren, Katie, Jonathan, Brian, Madison and Christina, plus many nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be said in Hank’s memory, at Settegast-Kopf Funeral Home, located at 15015 SW Freeway, Sugar Land, TX on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 5:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at St. Laurence Catholic Church, located at 3100 Sweetwater Blvd, Sugar Land TX, with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made, in Hank’s name, to the Alzheimer’s Association (in support of his wife), to St. Laurence Catholic Church (Sugar Land, TX) or St. Bernadette Catholic Church (Houston, TX).
