CHRISTOPHER JAY ELLISON, age 55, born August 15, 1958, in Austin, Texas, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 11, 2014, after complications associated with pneumonia. He passed away peacefully near his home in Sugar Land, Texas. Chris was a committed Christian, charitable, and prior to his hospitalization, had been active in the ministries of numerous area churches. Chris never met a person he didn’t like, and his infectious personality would win over the toughest crowd every time. He enjoyed telling stories and jokes to keep his crowd entertained, and once you met Chris, you had a friend for life. Chris would willingly volunteer and minister to those in need and spent much of his time and energy helping others, making everyone feel special and loved. Chris enjoyed being around family, friends, and neighbors and enjoyed all sports, especially playing golf. His caring spirit and passion for helping others will be his legacy passed on to the many people he has touched over the years.
Chris is survived by his parents, Bernie and Helen Ellison; sisters, Susan Ellison Ketterer and Kim Diefenderfer; and many other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Additionally, the family wishes to thank the staff at the Atrium Medical Center, Stafford, Texas, for their care and compassion shown to Chris during his extended illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit).
