Bobby Glenn Drake, 89, of Richmond, Texas died peacefully at home on June 12, 2021. Bob was born in Runnels County to Jasper H. and Edith Drake on March 29, 1932. He grew up in Winters, Texas and graduated from Winters High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Cleo Brown, and brother, J.P Drake. He is survived by his wife, Pat, of 67 years, two sons, and a daughter - Steve Drake (Margo), David Drake (Gina), and Diana Urbanovsky (Merlin); grandchildren - Heather Brown, Matthew Drake, Katie Todd (Patrick), Paige Cryer (Trace), Kristin Urbanovsky, Tayler Herr (Spencer), and Colten Drake, and three great grandchildren - Zach, Elaine, and Olivia.
Bob served in the Armed Forces and was employed with Halliburton Services in Texas, Oklahoma, and London, England. He retired in Houston in 1993 as Operations Manager of North America after 43 years with the company. Bob loved his job and the people he worked with. He enjoyed his family and getting them all together at the lake each summer - boating and skiing were his great joy. Bob was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with his sons. He and Pat square danced for many years. He loved to travel and was a member of a RV travel club. Bob served as a board member of the Petroleum Club in Oklahoma City and was active in that group in London. He was a Mason and a member of the Shrine Patrol. Bob was a member of Sugar Land First United Methodist Church where he served as a Tuesday Morning Volunteer and was a member of Discovery Sunday School Class.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 25, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Sugar Land First United Methodist Church - 431 Eldridge Road - Sugar Land, Texas 77478
Bobby's remains will be laid to rest in his hometown of Winters, Texas.
