Betty Kathryn Reynolds Bumgardner

Betty Reynolds Bumgardner, 94, passed away peacefully, November 27, 2021 after a short illness. Betty was a 4th generation Houstonian and 7th generation Texan. She was the daughter of William Lafayette Reynolds and Marguerite Hill Reynolds. She graduated from San Jacinto High School at sixteen years of age and attended Southwestern University where she met her future husband of 74 years, J C “Jim” Bumgardner, a Marine. They lived in Houston, Louisiana and Florida when Jim worked for Western Auto. In the 1980s, Betty and Jim started a real estate investment business in Houston. Betty is survived by her son, Scott Bumgardner and wife Maria, granddaughter Kimberly Ramirez and husband Rick, and great grandchildren Trent and Trisha Ramirez. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim and grandson Justin C. Bumgardner. A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
