She was born in Manhattan, NY on December 28, 1954. Sue graduated from Ramapo High School in 1972 and The University At Albany in 1978 with a Masters Degree of Social Welfare & Rehabilitation Counseling (MSW).
She was married to Richard Yanitelli on October 12, 1980.
Sue had a career in Juvenile Counseling for the Village of Spring Valley, NY for many years. She then worked for the County of Rockland in Child Protective Services. Post retirement, Sue worked as a Court Clerk for a few of the villages in Rockland County.
Sue’s true passion was helping juveniles who were disadvantaged and she thrived when she saw any success stories. To this day, several of those kids she impacted still kept in touch with her and continuously thanked her for the impact she had in setting them straight.
Sue had a passion for living life with Rich and her dogs, time with family and friends and spending time at her shore house which was her “happy place.” Sue devoted time and effort to supporting the American Cancer Society over the past 20 years. No matter the illnesses that she was afflicted by, Sue always fought back and her saying was “so many people have it so much worse than I do.”
Sue is survived by her husband, Rich, brother and sister in law, Keith (Ellen) Fessler, brother in law Mark (Donna) Yanitelli, sister in law Lisa Yanitelli, nephews Justin (Laura) Fessler, Mark Yanitelli, nieces Keri Fessler, Serena, Mariella & Gabrielle Yanitelli, “adopted” nephews Chris (Genevieve) Mase, Michael (Lisa) Mase and “adopted” nieces Allison Levine (Jeremy) and Robyn Levine (Kelsey).
