Shirley Theresa Almond, of Suffern, NY passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Shirley was born in Singapore on September 6, 1947 and raised by her parents Fred and Marjory (McLeod) Moorhead. Shirley was an avid gardener and took great pride from working in her garden, a lifelong lover of animals (especially dogs that she was known to rescue as a teenager), and also a collector of eclectic collectables. She married the love of her life Michael Almond in March 1968. Shirley delighted in being a Nana to her four grandsons.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years Michael Almond, cherished children Alec Almond and Elizabeth Bussian, son-in- law Peter Bussian, and by her adored grandsons Max, Leo, Ryan, and Jake.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 10AM to 12PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt 59, Suffern, NY.
