Lifelong Rockland resident, Kathleen Kurtz, passed away on September 27, 2017 at the age of 93. She was born in Spring Valley, NY on August 22, 1924, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Suzanna Kurutz.
Kathleen was a meticulous homemaker who cherished family, gardening, and the polka. Family enjoyed her Slovac specialties - stuffed cabbage, perogies, and holiday breads.
Predeceased by her husband, William P. Kurtz, and siblings Stephen and John Kurutz and Helen (Kurutz) Lamborn. Survived by her son John Gann and wife Stefanie Sovak, daughter Susan Kurtz, son William and wife Maureen Kurtz, granddaughters Patricia Spaulding and husband James, Kimberly Volpe and husband Frank and Kelly Kurtz. Also, three great grandsons Travis, Dylan and Daniel Spaulding.
A wake will be held on Friday, 9/29 from 4-8 pm and a funeral service at 11 am Saturday 9/30 at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in Kathleen's name and can be made to Meals on Wheels of Rockland or The Alzheimer's Association.
