Joyce Cecelia Kearsing

Joyce Cecelia Kearsing of Sloatsburg, NY passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. She was 90 years old. Joyce was born on June 7, 1933 in Nutley, NJ to the late George B. and Emma Cecelia (Ziegler) Derbyshire.

Joyce is a member of the Suffern High School Alumni Association of 1950. She worked as an Administrative Officer at Provident Bank in Suffern, NY. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for Brewer Fire Engine Company No.1 in Monsey, NY since 1973. She was also a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Airmont, NY.

Joyce is survived by her loving children, Debra Whitmer, Richard A. Maxwell, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, and stepdaughter Kathleen Garofal and her husband John; cherished brother, Donald Derbyshire, her adoring grandchildren John, Brianna, Stacey, Richard, Patricia, Courtney, Tara, Sean, Melissa, Emma, Cailin; and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Francis “Teeney” L. Kearsing, Sr., her brother, Richard Derbyshire, stepson Francis L. Kearsing, Jr.; and grandson, Nicholas Whitmer.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY. A Funeral Service will be held following the Visiting at 12:00 pm also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Airmont Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
