John Joseph Rogers

John Joseph Rogers of Hillsborough, New Jersey passed away on January 19, 2020 at age 56. He was born on May 10, 1963 to William Rogers and Mary Rogers formerly of Airmont, New York. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend Noreen Rogers and by his greatest blessings, his five grandchildren, Ryan McCarthy, Logan McCarthy, Callan McCarthy, Brody Twomey, and Grayson Twomey. Also survived by his brothers Christopher Rogers (wife Angela), Billy Rogers (wife Christine), Kevin Rogers (wife Gwyn), his sister Noreen Nagelbush (husband Paul), his stepdaughter Tara McCarthy (husband Joe) and stepson Brian Twomey (wife Jennifer), and his nieces and nephews Haley, Sean, Matthew, Madison, Nicholas, Aurora, and Kaylee.

John retired from Con Edison after 32 years in 2019. He enjoyed travelling to Hawaii and the Bahamas with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Canadiens, Devils, Patriots and Giants. Grandpa John never missed a birthday party, sporting event, band concert or dance recital and lived his life embodying the true meaning of Ohana. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Entombment services will be held at 11 am on February 8th at the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers please make donations in John’s name to the Lustgarten Foundation.
