Joan McEnery

Joan was born in Brooklyn to John D’Avirro and Nettie Nappe on June 25,1939. She went to St. Agatha’s Elementary School and she graduated from Catherine McCauley High School in Brooklyn. She married Bob McEnery on October 10th in Our Lady of Angels in Brooklyn NY. She graduated from Rockland Community College with an associate’s degree. She worked as a Patient Service Assistant for Good Samaritan Hospital Part-time for about 5 years. She worked for Nynex as a customer service representative. When Nynex and AT&T were split up she went to work for AT&T. She remained with AT&T as a manager until her retirement.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents John D’Avirro and Nettie Nappe, and her father’s 2nd wife Lydia Liberti D’Avirro.

Joan is survived by her husband Bob: her children Susie & Kenny, Rob & Karin, Dave and Carolyn: her twin brother Dr. John D’Avirro: Grandchildren Alyssa & Brad, Domenick & Amanda, Karissa & James, Robert & Allie, Amy, Reanna, Derek: Great Grandchildren Bristol, Jaxson and Paige.

Pallbearers will be Robert McEnery, David J McEnery, Kenny McDonagh, Keith Darcy.

The family of Joan McEnery would like to extend our thanks to Columbia Doctors and Good Samaritan CCU for taking such wonderful care of her and trying to save her life from the infection that took her.

Visitation Services will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home Sunday, 11/10 2-4, 7-9 pm.

Prayer Services will be Tuesday, 11/12, 11am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY
