Ines Castin Barjon, age 84, formerly of Spring Valley and New City, NY passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Ines was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She lived there until age 28 where she married her husband Fritz Barjon, Sr. who caringly referred to her as “Inouche". Ines emigrated to the United States in 1968. She worked in various positions throughout her life and following a 25 year career as a laboratory technician for Spectra East, retired to spend time with her grandchildren. Ines was a devout Catholic and servant of God. She constantly prayed for others and took joy in watching and attending mass on a daily basis. Whether you knew Ines or were a stranger, she would always show kindness, generosity and love. She volunteered her time to help others in need including for organizations such as Meals on Wheels. As much as Ines loved serving God, she also loved her family and friends. She cherished hosting family dinners for every holiday and made sure no one left her home hungry. She was a beloved friend to many people who received her unconditional support and love. Ines loved to travel the world with her church family. She was known for her big heart but also for having immense strength through difficult times. Her friends and family will remember her beautiful smile, warm hugs and thoughtful presence. She will be greatly missed.
Ines is survived by her husband Fritz Barjon, Sr., her children Fritz Barjon, Jr. and Rachelle Barjon Martin, daughter-in-law Nikki Barjon, son-in-law Kenneth Martin, Jr., grandchildren Sasha Barjon, Christian Barjon, Noah Martin, Iain Martin and Adam Martin.
A visitation for Ines will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901. A mass and Catholic burial will occur Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 333 Sneden Place W, Spring Valley, NY 10977. A burial will occur Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd., Airmont, NY 10952. Repast immediately to follow at Mahwah Bar & Grill 2 Island Rd, Mahwah, NJ 07430.
